I love to watch Holiday movies, and so do my family. These movies are fun, entertaining and full of colors, perfect mood boosters after the busy weekdays and a nice way to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends. When the days are getting shorter and not enough outdoor playtime left for my kiddos in these dark winter evenings, then often to overcome the boredom, we gather in front of our fireplace with a big bowl of caramel popcorn and warm cocoa cups, playing our favorite Christmas movies on Television, hmm, such a bliss.
Here, my family’s favorite 10 Christmas themed movies:
HOME ALONE-
You will never too old to watch this again and again. Really, I forgot the count.
An eight-year-old troublemaker must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation.
THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS-
A movie that tells about Halloween and Christmas, beautifully created.
Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home causes confusion.
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE-
The classic feel-good movie.
An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed.
THE POLAR EXPRESS-
Who does not love to hear Tom Hanks’s voice as the ticket master? It’s a beautiful story that will be embraced by every future generation. A true Christmas movie.
On Christmas Eve, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express, while learning about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas.
ELF-
Will Ferrel is awesomely funny as ELF. A nice Christmas comedy movie to light up your holidays.
After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.
CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRANKS-
Another comic relief. Crazy and hilarious.
With their daughter away, the Kranks decide to skip Christmas altogether until she decides to come home, causing an uproar when they have to celebrate the holiday at the last minute.
HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS-
When Dr. Seuss story meets with Jim Carry, then it has to be a laugh riot. Indeed, a happy classic Christmas movie.
On the outskirts of Whoville, there lives a green, revenge-seeking Grinch who plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens of the town.
THE SANTA CLAUS-
Watch how a commoner can become the Santa and the consequences he faced afterward. Nice comedy, feel-good movie.
When a man inadvertently kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.
JINGLE ALL THE WAY-
Another funny movie.
A father vows to get his son a Turbo Man action figure for Christmas. However, every store is sold out of them, and he must travel all over town and compete with everybody else in order to find one.
A CHRISTMAS STORY-
Another Christmas classic movie, that every kid should watch.
In the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie attempts to convince his parents, his teacher and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun really is the perfect Christmas gift.
